This was a good book. Kids love this series. It took me a little longer to get into this book when compared to the earlier books in this series. While the series is great for reluctant readers, and this book will still hold their attention, it isn't particularly award worthy.
The difficulty with discussing awards for books in a series is separating the individual book from the wider story arc of the series. Personally, I think the series is exceptional, but that this was not its strongest volume. Of course, there were several plot points in this book that readers have been waiting for (romantic connection to Annabeth, Luke's next step in service to Kronos), but I felt that if any book in the series was worthy of an award, it's probably not this one.
Rick Riordan does not dissapoint. Rick Riordan turns another greek myth into a great story. This book is fast paced and keeps the reader guessing. An amazing book and I can't wait for the next.
