I think there have been at least 3 books about this topic; the text in this one is the most compelling and interesting of the three I've read. Not so sure about Newbery, though.

This book was difficult for me to get through. If the Newbery is intended to reflect the best books written for children, I think I'd have to leave this one at the wayside.
