In this conclusion to the Maggie Valley trilogy, Kerry Madden beautifully captures the Smoky Mountain setting and the loving Weems family who live there in Maggie Valley. I really enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy, and I enjoyed this third title as well. (I certainly think it works as a "stand-alone," but I would love to hear from other readers who have not read the first two books.) Captivating as it is, I think this book could be improved with the inclusion of a CD of Livy Two's music.

I hate to think this title is the conclusion to the series. I still have many unanswered questions about Gentle, Daddy, Grandma Horace, and the rest of the family.

I enjoyed the first two books and look forward to reading the third installment. I had the good fortunate to have Kerry autograph my copies. I wonder what happens to Uncle Hazard?

I didn't read the first two, and do think it was a standalone. However, I found it to be too pat for my liking, and the reading of this one is not likely to entice me to read the first two. Perhaps had I read the first two I would've been more connected to the characters.

A safe read, definitely, but this bookmobiler wasn't convinced it was distinguished.
