This morning an enthusiastic group of children's librarians, representing both school and public libraries, met to discuss books for children published in 2009. It was a great discussion -- and a tough decision -- but after several ballots we arrived at a winner and two honor books.The winner of the 2010 ACPL Mock Newbery is When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead.
We selected two honor books: Jacqueline Woodson's Peace, Locomotion and Helen Frost's Crossing Stones.
Great books from a great year of books! Now we will all anxiously await the announcement of the "real" winner!
