Sweet, but not Newbery material
I cannot imagine this a Newbery winner.
I am not sure it will capture the audience enough. It seemed more like a book a grown up/ teacher would like in teaching about word usage.
liked it, but not in my Newbery top list. I think kids who like to write will like it more than other kids.
It did seem like a book more meaningful to an adult than to a child. I'm having trouble verbalizing it, but the audience seems to be adults nostalgic for childhood.
Not on my Newbery list either. I think Dawn said it very well.
