This title was suggested by a 12 year-old boy who didn't want to leave his name, but said the dad was just like his own dad and that the story was great! He liked reading a book about chess.
I thought that tyhis was a unique book. I liked the idea and haven't read anything similar to it that I can recall. I did think that there was too much profanity in it. However the characters were complex and interesting. I liked it, but I don't think it will win.
The brothers definitely have an over the top father. He reminds me of some of the hockey dads that I have seen over the years. I like how the brothers handle their difficult situation. They seem to be in a perpetual check as sons.
