A great read for younger readers. Oliver has great ideas, but is a bit smothered by his parents attentions to his homework and other aspects of his life. He finds ways around them and wins through in the end.

This book was a delightful read but not Newbery material. It was a refreshing change of pace to have a protagonist whose parents were overprotective rather than abusive. The subplot of children rallying to the defense of Pluto after it was kicked out of the planet club was fun, too.

I expected more shock and embarrassment from Oliver when his work was exposed, and also from his parents who had their smothering outed to the whole school. A fun book, but not terribly believable.
